An Android app that sets the feeds you choose as a newspaper.
Personal Gazette takes the RSS feeds you subscribe to and typesets them into a black-and-white newspaper you can read on your phone or print: columns, halftone photographs, an index, and a puzzle on the back page. It runs on your device. There is no account, no advertising, and no server of ours for anything to be collected to.
It publishes nothing of its own. Every piece it prints comes from a source you added yourself, and is printed under that source's name and, where the feed gives one, its author's. Any piece can be opened at the publisher's own page from the reader.
Questions, faults, and requests from publishers about their own feeds all go to the same address, and are answered by a person:
The same address is shown inside the app, under Settings → Contact.
The app fetches only feeds a reader has added, at the ordinary web addresses those feeds publish, and identifies itself as a browser would. It adds no identifier for the reader or their device. If you would rather it did not fetch yours, write to the address above and say so.
Nothing leaves the device except requests to the feeds you chose — and, only if you switch it on, to a language model at an address you enter yourself. The full policy is here: Privacy Policy.
